In this session, requisites for preparing youth for leadership now and in the future will be identified and discused. 

Plenary II: Passing of the Old into the New
Friday July 18 from 1:00pm--3:00pm

Speakers: Elder E. Malkia Brantuo, Proprietress/Director, Ayensudo Akoma International Academy (Cape Coast, Ghana); Nelson Peery, Author Black Fire: The Making of An American Revolutionary and Black Radical: The Education of an American Revolutionary

In this session, lessons of elder leadership are summed up and ceremoniously passed on to the youth. 

Plenary III: From Theory to Action: Electoral Politics
Saturday July 19 from 9:30am--12:00noon

Speakers: Bernard Parker, Wayne County Commissioner; JoAnn Watson, Detroit City Council Member; Dr. Norma Lozano Jackson, Norma Lozano Jackson Foundation; Marcos Garcia, 2nd Secretary, Venezuelan Embassy

Local politicians will discuss current political issues, implications and campaigns.
